Hyde Sails will again take the role of lead sponsor. In both 2010 and 2011 Hyde Sails generously presented the winners with a voucher for a new sail. 2012 gossip suggests that there will be some old faces in new boats and some new faces in old boats. And to top it all Flying Fifteen crews will race at some new venues as well as favourite regular haunts. Expect turnouts in double figures and quality racing with friendly rivalries fought out at each event and rounded off with plenty of banter in the bar.
The sailing venues are spread around central and west scotland. The scenery is great, the racing is fun and the hospitality and craic after the sailing is worth turning up for just on its own. Through this website you are invited to join in.
There are six events and 4 will count for the series. You do not need to enter the series. Results will be drawn from each event automatically. No seperate entry fee- just enter each event directly with the relevant club.
Apart from the Travellers Series,which includes the Scottish National Championships, the UK Flying Fifteen Championships take place in late July at Largs.This will be the biggest one design keelboat event in Scotland with a typical turnout in excess of 60 boats.
